EARNING POINTS
1. You must be a full member to earn points. Players on trial do not earn any points for raids attended.
2. All new members receive 10 points upon completing their 30-day trial.
3. Points are earned for each major boss mob we kill regardless of how long it takes (we do not give points by the hour like some guilds). Mobs are worth a varying amount of points depending on the priority of the mob being killed.
4. Attendance is taken at the time we engage each mob that has a point value. So if you arrive late to a raid you will miss the points for any boss mobs killed up to that time. In order to be included on the attendance list for a raid you must NOT be anonymous. Roleplay is ok, we just need to see the guild tag by your name when we do a /who guild.
BIDDING YOUR POINTS
1. You cannot bid with points you have not yet earned. You may not go into the negative for your points total. So if you only have 10 points, you can't bid 100 on something.
2. You can only bid on items for your char that you attend the raid with and which are usable by your class/race. Buying items for your alts to loot is not permitted. If you two box a second char regularly for raids, then that char will earn and spend points separately.
3. You may only bid on one item per mob.
4. If you win the item, then the number of points you bid will be deducted from your total.
5. Bidding must be done quickly, the officer handling the bids on an item will give a Second Call and a Last Call and then will declare the winner.
6. Please do not ask the officers how many points you have. We keep the points tracker up to date as best we can, either go check it yourself or ask another member to check for you. The officers handling bids are not in a position to go look up anyone's point total.
7. All bids are done through direct tells to the officer who is handling that item, do not attempt to place your bid using /rs or /gu or any other chat channels.
Our system for biding points has two different variations: High Bid and Low Bid.
Low Bid:
-- If ALL the bids on an item are <= 30 then the item is considered to be Low Bid.
-- Low Bid items are handled by a random roll. The amount of each bid determines the number of lots you have on that roll. For example, player A bids 5 and player B bids 10, then the officer handling the item would list it out as
"PlayerA 1-5, playerB 6-15" and then would do a /random 1 15 to determine the winner.
-- You may change your bid only once and that change is to increase your lot. You may not withdraw from an item. Think before you bid.
High Bid: -- As soon as a bid for an item comes in at 31 or over, the item is considered a High Bid and goes to an auction format.
-- All bids previously placed which are below 31 are erased.
-- The officer handling bids on the item will call out "High bid 31" (or whatever the bid was)
-- The names of those who high bid are held secret until a winner is determined.
-- The minimum increment for each bid is 5, so if the current high bid is 40 then you must bid at least 45. The exception to this is when you bid your maximum number of points.
-- You may keep increasing your bid as many times as you want, until you have bid your current maximum point totals
POINT BLEED
Every time you bid on an item you will lose points. This point bleed is in place to prevent people from bidding on every item that drops that looks nice or for items which are barely an upgrade. If you low bid an item that eventually is high bid by another player, you will suffer no point bleed.
Low Bid bleed = 1 point
High Bid Bleed = 3 points
ROT LOOT
If no one submits a bid on an item the officer handling the bids for that item will declare a rot roll for it. Players may submit their names to be included in the roll, all players will have an equal chance on the roll. Alt chars, trial members and applicants may also join in on the rot rolls. Any member who wins a rot roll will be charged 1 point. There is no point bleed for losing a rot roll.
Edit: Removed reference to obsolete PoP mobs.
